          If you can't hold the pet are you bringing it to the ASPCA on Rt 207 or to the Animal Rescue Center at Colby Kennels on Rt 94 in New Windsor ? Can You Safely Tie it or Chain it ?

Please Describe the animals main fur color, secondary color and any distinguishing markings, on head, tail, feet, undercarriage, short fur, long fur, soft fluffy. 

        About how tall is the pet ?

        About how much would you guess the pet weighs ?

        Is there any collar ? (Color & Type, Leather, nylon, chain)

       Are there ANY tags or licenses with numbers ? (What are they ?)

       Does the animal appear to be sick or injured ?

       Can you email us a picture if you have one of those digital cameras ?

        Is there a second number (pager, cell phone, voicemail) we can give them also ?

        We pay rewards for pets that are recovered and returned to the owner out of our own pocket as a community service/good will gesture. If this pet is returned/recovered would you like any reward that we have offered to be paid to you. (Owners awards are the responsibility of the owner only) We pay our own offered Lost Pet Alert awards through Paypal directly to your e-mail account given out of our own pockets. We do not charge the owner any fee NOR do we accept donations for us. The owner must confirm.

If we haven't worn you out with all of these questions can you tell us a little about how you were able to find, recover the lost pet ? What made you notice the pet  (Flyer, Pet Alert Card, Posting Pets Behavior, Loose Chain ? We use this to help other people.If You noticed them hanging around the area...How long has that been..?

If you don't HAVE the pet in custody. Do you have a last known direction of travel..? Were they on a road or trail..? That kind of stuff... When/Time/Date

        Thanks, you have hopefully helped reunite one of our furry friends with his/her/its family or sometimes just helped to bring closure to hours, days and weeks of worry and heartache of the family.      You've really helped. Keeping in mind that we do this only as a part time community service is there any suggestions that you could make on how we could better help lost pets and their owners.

      Here's what is already on the theoretical drawing board as time permits:

      1) E-mail alerts to vets, Police & shelters in the lost pets area.

      2) Downloadable or printable Online "WANTED" missing pet posters.

      3) Input/postings  from shelters on recovered animals.

No But I will tell someone who might help.       Sometimes we have people who are elderly, infirmed, or unable to search for their pets by themselves or just need extra bodies to cover the area.
